Sound familiar?

  • Your team is busy running the business.

Sales and operations can’t stop, and nobody has time to manage a renovation on the side.

  • The bids came in high and you can’t tell why.

Scope gaps, exclusions and allowances hide in every bid until someone levels them.

  • You have five sites to open, all to one standard.

Each location drifts a little until nothing matches the brand.

  • The design looks great. Nobody has priced it.

You find out what it costs after the drawings are done, when changes are expensive.

That’s where BTPM comes in.

BTPM Cost Watch

A monthly construction cost update for owners and developers, built from public government price data with our take on what it means for your budget.

October 2026 edition, September 2026 data

Metals and fuel are pushing costs up. Wood, concrete and drywall are holding.

+11.7%
Construction input prices
Past 12 months
+5.4%
Contractor bid prices
Past 12 months
+28%
Steel mill products
Past 12 months

Input costs are rising more than twice as fast as bid prices. That gap usually closes through higher bids, so budgets set earlier this year may need another look.
